Cara Duren.
The quintessential outdoors-lady and overall badass, Cara Duren. When Cara is not at the gym, she can be found exploring the Ozarks, woodworking or planning her next adventure. Cara deeply understands goals are great to create, but it’s more about who you become in the process of striving to achieve your goals.
"As an athlete, occupational therapist and coach I am constantly striving to improve so that I can attain my goals. I started working with Shaina to become more comfortable/efficient with handstand push ups, to improve my Olympic lifts, and to attain a strict ring muscle up. I have stuck with it because I want to achieve my goals in a correct manner, without getting injured. I also have seen a huge amount of improvement in strength, confidence, efficiency in my movement/form in MetCons. And if I am being honest, we all have the capacity to be better athletes/coaches or ‘fit humans’ as Shaina would say when we allow ourselves to be coachable by others. After all, life is a learning process!”
The improvements Cara made in her strength and body awareness were noticeable. AND she met her goal of getting a strict ring muscle up the day she turned 40. I think it’s safe to say, we were both pretty stoked about that one.
